Description and further information
The scissor-shaped candle snuffers, terminating in a drop-shaped box, were used to trim the burnt wick of a candle. The box-like head opens beside the cutting blade, allowing the hot piece of wick to fall into the receptacle. The surface of the snuffers is decorated with floral motifs set on leafy scrolls, executed in cloisonné enamel.
