Description and further information
This scissor-shaped candle snuffers, terminating in a drop-shaped box at the end, was used to trim the burnt wicks of candles. The box-shaped head opens on the side next to the blade required for cutting the wick; the hot piece of wick then falls into the box. The surface of the candle snuffer is decorated with floral motifs set on leafy tendrils, executed in cloisonné enamel technique.
