Wooden statue of St. Nicholas

On the smooth back of this statue of St. Nicholas rising from clouds, traces of the original joints can be found, which attached the work—presumably part of a larger composition—to the backboard of an altarpiece shrine or niche. The statue’s polychromy is partially original, although in several places a Baroque (?) paint layer can be seen.
